Encrypt PDF

Set an opening password to protect access to your PDF.

What can Encrypt PDF do?

Protect a PDF with an AES-256 opening password. The downloaded file requires that password to read.

How to use

  1. Click “Choose files” to add PDF files, or drag them to the upload area.
  2. Enter an opening password and enter it again to confirm.
  3. Click “Start processing”, then download the result.
Example

Set an opening password before sharing a document, then test the downloaded PDF with that password.

Before you start

Remember your password. The website does not store it and cannot recover it. Both the password and the file are processed only on your device.

Limit: 50 MB per file, 5 MB for text files and 100 MB in total. Available device memory may impose smaller limits. Files are not uploaded to a conversion server.
